Private Pharmacist Consultation & Prescribing

Convenient private consultations with a qualified pharmacist independent prescriber. We can assess a range of health concerns, discuss appropriate treatment options and, where clinically suitable, issue a private prescription. No GP referral is required.

Clinical assessment without a GP referral

Some health concerns may not be covered by an NHS pharmacy pathway, or you may prefer the convenience of a private consultation. Our pharmacist independent prescribers can assess your symptoms, medical history and current medicines before discussing the most appropriate next step.

If treatment is clinically suitable, a private prescription may be issued. A consultation does not guarantee that a medicine will be prescribed, and referral to another healthcare service may sometimes be the safest option.

What the service includes

A private consultation with a qualified pharmacist independent prescriber
Review of your symptoms and relevant medical history
Review of allergies and current medicines
Clinical examination or observations where appropriate
Discussion of suitable treatment options
A private prescription where clinically appropriate
Advice, safety-netting and follow-up where needed
Referral or signposting when another service would be more appropriate
