Our commitment
We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website, including people with disabilities, different communication needs or limited digital confidence. We aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as the website is developed and improved.
Using this website
We aim for the website to let you:
- zoom text and page content without losing important information;
- navigate using a keyboard as well as a mouse or touchscreen;
- use headings, labels, links and controls that are clear and consistent;
- use a screen reader or other assistive technology with the main content;
- understand content written in clear, straightforward language;
- distinguish text and controls through appropriate colour contrast; and
- access important information without relying on colour, images or sound alone.
Your browser and device may also allow you to change text size, colours, contrast and other display settings. AbilityNet provides guidance on adapting computers, tablets and phones at mcmw.abilitynet.org.uk.
Alternative ways to access our services
If you cannot use part of the website, contact us. We can help by telephone or in person and can provide information in another reasonable format where practicable. You can also ask us about Welsh-language support or another communication adjustment. Calling or visiting the pharmacy may be the quickest option for an urgent booking or medicine enquiry.
Medical emergencies
The website and online forms are not monitored continuously. For urgent medical help use NHS 111 Wales or 999 as appropriate.
Current accessibility position
The redesigned website has not yet undergone a full independent accessibility audit, so we do not currently claim full WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance. We will review the live website after launch, address issues in order of patient impact and update this statement with the results.
Known and potential limitations
Some content or functions are supplied by third parties and may not be wholly within our control. These may include:
- the Setmore booking service and other external booking or clinical-service platforms;
- embedded Google Maps or review content;
- older PDF documents or documents supplied by NHS or external organisations; and
- external websites opened from links on our pages.
Where an embedded feature creates a barrier, we aim to provide a direct link, telephone option or another practical route. If you find an inaccessible document, tell us what you need and we will try to provide an accessible alternative.
Reporting an accessibility problem
Please tell us if you encounter a problem, need information in a different format or believe we have not met your accessibility needs. It helps if you include the page or service involved, what went wrong, the device or assistive technology used and how you would prefer us to respond. You do not have to provide information that is not relevant to resolving the issue.
